7 Reasons why you should get married in Amalfi Coast

We can all agree that choosing Amalfi for your destination wedding in Italy can only be described as a perfect decision and a choice that you will never regret! So why and what makes weddings in Amalfi so memorable?

1- The beautiful weather

Located on the Mediterranean coast, the weather in Amalfi is amazing! With warm sunny summers and mild winters, the climate offers great weather conditions for most of the year. The cool summer breeze will definitely contribute to a great destination wedding experience, including all planned activities and festivities – even more so if your wedding is outdoors!

2- The perfect wedding backdrops

The beauty of the Amalfi Coast is exceptional, and it boasts one of the most stunning coastlines in the world. The picturesque scenery of white sandy beaches and crystal blue waters surrounded by pretty and colorful houses can be admired from the charming villages located on the cliffsides. Now close your eyes and imagine having this idyllic view as a background to your wedding portraits. Or imagine yourself and your guests toasting to a new happy life under one of the world’s most magical sunsets. Romance all the way!

3- The quality and beauty of the wedding venues in Amalfi and its surrounding charming villages

Just when you think things cannot get any prettier, you find out that (literally) every wedding venue in Amalfi is stunning. While they may differ in style, they all share one thing in common: they are gorgeous with a luxurious feel that will have your guests in awe (more on this below). The one thing you won’t like is having to pick just one venue!

4- Amalfi’s practical location

Getting to the Amalfi Coast is not difficult. Most visitors prefer flying to Naples and then taking the train there (note: train rides in such a landscape are an exceptional and romantic experience).
Amalfi is also a great spot to start from and visit other neighboring spectacular towns.
You can hop on a ferry and visit the romantic and spectacular Capri, Ischia, and Salerno. On top of exploring beautiful new towns, the ferry trip by itself is lovely, especially in the summertime where you can take in all the views.
Traveling around Amalfi to visit the charming surrounding towns and villages such as Positano, Ravello, and Sorrento is also easy, but make sure to rent a car to make the most out of your trip. Road trip anyone!?

5- The ease of planning guest activities and wedding festivities

There are so many things to do and visit on the Amalfi Coast, and the options are many and can suit any interest, preference, or style. You can easily plan wedding weekend festivities such as sunset drinks on a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea or a pre-wedding party on a cruise boat along the coast. You can stroll around the narrow alleyways for daytime activities, plan a road trip, or a few short trips to the gorgeous and charming surrounding areas. And if you’re into history, art, and architecture, you will love planning visits to the many museums, ancient cathedrals, and other historical monuments. After all, Amalfi has a rich historical heritage as it was once was a powerful maritime republic, just like fellow stunning ancient naval powers: Venice, Genoa, and Pisa.

6- The awesome “all-things-Italian” including Italian Food & Drink

We are not going to get into how delicious Italian food is and how Italian wine is one of the best in the world. But trust us, in Amalfi, food does get even better (who knew it was possible)! Famous for its fresh, beautiful lemons and Limoncello, the Amalfi Coast will take your Italian food tasting experience to the next level. Like next level. Speaking of which, authentic Limoncello from Almalfi will make a great wedding favor idea, and if your wedding decor ideas include lemons and blue mosaics, then you’ve definitely landed in the right place!

7- The perfect honeymoon spot

The Amalfi Coast is the perfect honeymoon spot and the best way to start your life adventure as a married couple.
You can relax and unwind after all the wedding festivities by lying down on stunning sandy beaches during the day and drinking your happiness on a beautiful Terrazza while admiring the stunning vistas.
And as if that was not enough to guarantee an unforgettable honeymoon, you can also visit from there the beautiful famous neighboring towns like Positano, Ravello, the gorgeous peninsula Sorrento and many other less-famous but equally charming and pretty towns like Maiori, Minori, Atrani, and Praiano.
Wait, there is more! From Amalfi, you can also hop on a ferry and visit the oh so romantic isle of Capri and beautiful volcanic Ischia, to name just a few of the gorgeous surrounding islands. Swoon!

How much does it cost to get married in Amalfi

A destination wedding in Italy costs on average EUR 35,000 to EUR 80,000 for 100 guests. However, there are many variables to consider, including the size of your wedding, the style, the number of guests, the choice of venue, catering options, entertainment requirements, etc.
The average cost of a wedding in Amalfi is about EUR 50,00 for 70 guests.
While wedding vendors’ rates are usually the same across most of Italy, what makes a difference when it comes to the budget of a destination wedding in the Amalfi Coast is:

  • The price of the wedding venue:
    – As the region is a small (but oh so gorgeous) area surrounded by the sea and mountains, the number of venues is not a lot especially considering the very high demand for weddings in this idyllic Italian region.
    – If you are getting married during the high season, like summer, most wedding venues will need to be booked for an entire week. These villas usually have 7 or 8 rooms to accommodate close family and friends.
  • The guest entertainment and other wedding festivities:
On the Amalfi Coast, you have the option to entertain your guests and plan as many fun activities as you want, no matter your budget. Just road-tripping to nearby charming villages, strolling the narrow streets and alleys, or visiting the many monuments will be entertainment to last for days.
  • The wedding vendors
You won’t have any difficulty finding the best high-quality wedding vendors on the Amalfi Coast. From wedding planners, caterers, photographers, and florists, you will find them all on WedBoard, allowing you to seamlessly plan your wedding in the Amalfi Coast!

Where to get married in the Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast is a world-famous wedding destination, especially for sophisticated weddings. The area boasts some of the most coveted wedding locations in Italy and the world, like Positano, Ravello, Amalfi City, and Sorrento. Just pronouncing their names can put you in a dreamy romantic mood!

Positano

It is no surprise that weddings in Positano are one of the most in-demand. Picturesque Positano is located south of Naples along the Amalfi Coast and is considered a natural Mediterranean jewel. The serene location on a steep hillside overlooking an azure blue sea is a hard-to-match backdrop. One of the most famous wedding venues in Positano is the spectacular Villa Oliviero.

Amalfi City

Drenched in the sun most of the year, you will find the most impressive and lush cliffsides surround the town of Amalfi. Narrow alleys, colorful homes, ancient cathedrals all make Amalfi a spectacular location for destination weddings at any time of year.

Tip: It is worth noting that Amalfi and Positano both boast stunning villas you can book for your wedding venue. But keep in mind that given the very high demand, these venues are often booked and sold out almost a year ahead, which also impacts the prices.

Ravello

Exclusive yet quaint Ravello won the hearts of many brides. The little (only in size) town offers breathtaking views and lush gardens while remaining intimate. It also hosts some world-famous wedding venues like Villa Cimbrone and the Belmond Caruso. The town hosts many luxurious hotels. And while they can be expensive wedding venues, your final bill might match or actually be less than what you would pay in other towns where you have to book a villa for a whole week during the high season.

Sorrento

Perched (literally, the city is like a balcony over the sea) over the Mediterranean and the Bay of Naples, the small and bustling peninsula, is a spectacular location for every bride looking to get married in Amalfi. If you are on a tighter budget or would rather spend it on your honeymoon, you can consider getting married in magical Sorrento without having to compromise on quality, sceneries, and the overall experience and feel.
